So, last week Bank Machine announced their “Fight for Fivers” campaign. They want to get five pound notes back into circulation and are hoping to install their own £5 dispensing cash machines in high-profile locations.
Have you felt the lack of five pound notes?
How useful would a £5 cash machine be for you?
Are these machines good because they allow you to withdraw a small amount or because they allow you to withdraw a larger amount in smaller denominations?
Wasting time (mainly in a queue probably) for a measly fiver does not seem worth the hassle. Unless your finances are extremely tight withdrawing £10 or £20 would be seem more useful.
ONLY one prob ! how much do you wanna bet the machines are independantly owned even franchised and will CHARGE you at least £1.50 for the priviledge ? so you would need at least £7 in your account ?

Interestingly I travel to the USA quite frequently and using the ATM's there I was finding I got charged LESS for taking money out then some machines back home ! I note the disturbing trend now by some banks to have resumed charges for withdrawing unless of course its from YOUR BANK ? but all aside YES I agree the £5 is far better than withdrawing £10 YOU JUST have to spend it ! Also how many machines do you know these days dispense £10 ?? my local Lloyds TSB machine won't dispense less than £20 !!
I never go to a cash dispenser. so another cash machine wouldn' t make any diffrence. As for dipensinng £5 notes- cashiers give me too many £1 coins so £5 notes would be better. I say let the Suppermarkets dispense the £5 notes. It would be far cheaper way to do it than for the Banks to put in machine dispensers of which the cost is passed onto the customers! A waste of money paid by us!
