Oh, it is good to be given a platform to let off steam about this bunch!
Way back in the dial up days, Tiscali gave me the wrong dial up number. They admitted their fault, but did they refund the £200 of telephone calls made? Did they heck.
So, I ups sticks and moves to another provider. After long delays, and much toing and froing, Tiscali eventually gave a MAC code to allow migration.
And guess what? Tiscali bought the company! Within a few weeks, my son took a call telling him we were to be provided with a free upgrade. 'Looks good' he thought, til we discovered mid-month we were tied to a new 'friendly' download limit, when previously we had an unlimitd agreement.
So, a move to Pipex, where we got our unlimited downlaods, and up to 8mb download speed (only 5mb is possible in this neck of the woods). Until Tiscali bought the company and introduced a 2mb download speed. No refund offered, though!
So how do Tiscali justify this reduceion in service?
