In a recent survey, over 11 million drivers confessed they would be prepared to lie to their insurers in order to ensure a payout. Do you think it’s ok to deceive greedy insurers, or is it a grand folly to lie in this way?
Insurers always have a way of finding out any lies. I think in the event of a claim its best to be straight with them otherwise you could be charged with fraud.
However, I think most people lie slightly on their quotes, such as the mileage or where you keep the car during the day for example.
Back in my home land, I used my mother address some 300 miles away to insure my car as it was so much cheaper. Not much of a lie, it was the atleast once every 3 months.....
Back in my home land, i crashed my Dad's Audi Quattro into a bridge while he was on holiday. He didn't mind too much about the car, but having to pay for a new bridge really ****ed him off.
When I first crashed my Volkswagen, I merely wrote my own insurance on a piece of scrap paper and wrote at the top 'Admiral Car INsuronce' (sic) with a crude drawing of said naval man.
I figured, which of these insurance companies looks the easiest to fool? And naturally, when I found out that the eponymous Admiral was in actuality not a real naval man, I thought they'd be the best candidates.
General Accident isn't a real General either, and i don't think Captain Birdseye ever actually earned his stripes.
At least not in the naval sense.
Churchill is just a puppet dog voiced by Vic Reeves, Privilege is simply a vehicle for Nigel Havers' great theatrical comeback, and Sheila's Wheels isn't even based in Australia, their office is in Gravesend.
Are we scamming the insurers, or are they scamming us?
