Have you been turned down for a credit card recently? What was the reason given for this? Also, we’d love to hear from any former Egg customers who were affected by the recent culling spree.

I applied for a Virgin Money Credit card the other day and was approved instantly with a limit of £6000.

Seeing that only have £2000 on my other credit cards, i think this a bit high. Especially in the light of the credit crunch, and I was shocked at how little checks there appears to of been.

I got rejected by Capital One, although they did specifically say over 25 with an exellent credit rating. I was neither.

James you have to be careful, you dont want to un-necessarily dent your credit rating by applying for products that you know you will be rejected for.

Especially in these credit crunch times.

I got a credit report a few months ago and they said I don't have enough credit checks on my report. No denting has been done thus far.

I'll need to apply for 10 credit cards (in this year alone) to dent my report. No chance of me doing that.
